Perfect start
Starting your video with what you suggest in your thumbnail and title immediately hooks the audience. By using blurred images, you make the viewers even more curious. Making viewers eager to uncover the content behind the blur. This also earns you credibility with the viewers because they see that they haven't been click baited, and they keep watching for the disturbing content. This tactic not only boosts the engagement but also builds trust with your audience by delivering on the promises made in the thumbnail and title. As a result, viewers are more likely to continue watching your videos and engage with your content.

Great Hooks
• 01:10 And it even got weirder..
• 01:15 But it definitely wasn't as weird as..
• 02:16 Just like rapper Lil kelpy needs to learn to keep his mouth shut to avoid getting beat up..
• 03:52 Things got out of hand, and this happened..
• 04:06 That's not the worst thing that ever happened on this show..
I have made a list of the number of hooks used in just the first 5 minutes of the video. At the beginning of the video, they refer to the 15 most disturbing interviews. By using these hooks, you don’t even realize that you've already seen 5 interviews in the first 5 minutes. This is a much better way of storytelling, and it’s something I would almost always recommend using. It helps create smooth transitions and keeps the audience interested.

Overall Editing and background music
The video editor did a great job matching the video with the script. It means that what the scriptwriter wrote is shown well in the video. They used specific edits and sometimes let clips play without any edits. This makes the video easy to understand and does what it's supposed to do. A good example is at 00:58. The voiceover guides you to a clip that is played with the right edits for buildup, followed by the clip playing without any edits, but with thrilling background music. By doing this, the clip gains an extra weight. This adds more impact to the clip, giving the viewer what they came for. It makes the video stronger and keeps people interested. You can see that they do this more often in the video, as seen at 01:43, 03:10, 07:07. These are some examples that you can make good use of if you decide to enter this niche yourself.

Referencing
I want to highlight this particular hook: ''You have probably seen the news about the whole P Diddy controversy, but what you might have not seen is this...'' Instead of directly asking viewers to like and subscribe, this method subtly encourages them to check out more of your content. By reminding your audience of what they might have missed, you naturally drive them to your other videos. This approach not only keeps your current audience engaged, but also increases the chances of them checking your other videos as well. Creating high-quality content that connects with your viewers is key to standing out from the competition without the need for constant reminders to like and subscribe.

AI voice over
We have already seen in the comments that people are complaining about the AI voiceover being used now. I even think that the voice of the original voiceover artist has been copied and is now used in the latest videos to save costs. In theory, this could work well, but you must always pay close attention to mistakes to avoid negative comments from your audience. If this happens, like with this video, I would definitely recommend looking for a real voiceover artist again. But that's all, I can't find anything else wrong with the video itself. As I described, everyone worked well together to achieve the best final result.

✅ Good thumbnail, but...
A good thumbnail with a clear message, although the text is slightly on the long side. Try to use no more than 3 words on your thumbnail so that the viewer can read the text in split seconds. But besides that, this thumbnail is fine, and I can understand why it could trigger the target audience. The contrast is also well done; using a white background with black text makes it stand out well, but be careful not to make the text too long.

Too much
Here, the creator tried to use the same aspects as the previous thumbnail, but it looks a little more chaotic. I understand the idea of using a white background with black text, a gun pointing at someone, and an angry face. But this time, there’s no contrast, so everything stands out less compared to the previous thumbnail. I think if you just removed the person with the black and white jacket, the thumbnail would look already much better. By cutting that person out of the picture, you would have only three focus points left, making the contrast bigger.

❌ All over the place
Actually, you can see that too much of everything was used here, which made the thumbnail look chaotic. There are too many focus points, so it’s hard to know where to look. Also, the text is in the wrong place and doesn’t stand out enough if you ask me. If they used the same format as the first thumbnail, this one would be much better. It would have more impact and be easier to understand. Using fewer focus points and better contrast would make it clearer and more attractive to your viewers.

How do I find topics:
IMPORTANT: It's important to note that there is a difference between the rap niche that focuses on breaking news, and videos that stay relevant much longer like rappers moments. We also see with our competition channel that those topics are the best viewed, which is why I would like to point out that it's not the intention to go in the news direction, because that niche is much more saturated. To give you a good example of choosing the right topics, I will link the most populair videos from our competition channel below:
• 15 Most Disturbing Interviews With Rappers Of ALL TIME...
• 15 Most Disturbing Last Photos Of Rappers Of ALL TIME...
• Rappers Reacting to Crazy Prison Sentences...
• Most disturbing interviews with Rappers
Do you see the pattern in these topics? And don't get me wrong, because news-related videos about rappers can allow you to go viral faster within a short period of time, but I've seen that niche is already quite saturated and that's why I would advise staying away from that. You can, of course, use some recent news in your video or topic, but make sure that's not your focus.
So to come up with good topics, it is important to know where to look. Therefore, I started examining what kind of clips are used in the videos of the competitor's channel. We want to look for disturbing moments about various rappers who are currently being talked about a lot. There are many ways to discover this:
Using Podcasts: You can see that the competitor's channel also uses a lot of footage from so-called podcasts. Unlike many other media, these are not censored, and the rappers can often speak freely about what they want. This is good for us to uncover disturbing facts. I found a small list of podcasts about the rap scene:
1. Drink Champs
2. Hip Hop Can Save the World
3. The Joe Budden Podcast
4. People’s Party with Talib Kweli
5. Bodega Boys
6. All The Smoke
7. The Breaks
8. Dissect
9. Questlove Supreme
10. Mogul
11. Broken Record
12. No Jumper
13. Rap Radar
Social media:
What we also see a lot is that the video editor of the competitor's channel frequently uses statements made by rappers on social media. There is a lot of use of X, Instagram, and Snapchat primarily. So make sure to keep an eye on the rappers' socials to find out what they are currently doing and if they have anything disturbing to say about each other. Explain this to your scriptwriter and video editor as well, so they can make use of it. These are statements that rappers themselves make on their own channels, not written by a journalist. This often adds an extra dimension to your final video.
Competitors:
Of course, you don't need to reinvent the wheel by searching for new topics every time. By using the viral topics of your competitors, you can effectively base your own video on them. Just make sure to add enough of your own input.

Topic:
We know that topics with "Most Disturbing" perform well with the audience. So, I looked into competitors to see if they have made videos related to this. I checked the channel of @Trapologist and found a topic that fits well with my ideas. I then continued my Google search to see if I could find any other articles where rappers do something disturbing on social media, and ended up with an article uploaded recently where a rapper accidentally shoots himself. I will link the articles below.

How to create your thumbnail?
I searched on Google for a picture of a rapper where it looks like he accidentally shoots himself. After some research, I came across this photo and saw that this article had been uploaded recently. I do want to mention that showing a gun on your thumbnail can be a risk, so you will have to ask yourself if you want to take that risk and if not, you can always add some blur to it.
Exposure, texture & social media icons
As you can see, this image is not the best quality and very dark. For that reason, I used the camera raw filter - exposure in Photoshop and added some texture and sharpening to make the photo stand out just a bit more. Since it's a screenshot, this image will never be a high quality thumbnail, but that shouldn't be the focus because it's better to have a thumbnail with a slightly lower quality but a clear message, than a high-end designed thumbnail with no clear message. To trigger the target audience even more, I chose to place a LIVE icon at the top right to create some FOMO.
Drop shadow
Normally, I would often place the text at the top of the thumbnail, but given the size of the photo, I choose to place the text at the bottom. Since I do want the text to be easily readable, I created an extra layer in Photoshop and used the brush tool to create some dark shadow.
Finally, I added the text 3 MINUTES BEFORE SHOOTING and then your thumbnail will look like this:
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience like?
Good storytelling
You can see that in the first videos, a real male voiceover was chosen. This is immediately noticeable in the comments, where people mention it and appreciate that AI is not being used. Therefore, sticking with a real voiceover, especially one with a strong and captivating voice, can make a significant difference. It keeps viewers interested and enhances their overall experience. So, it’s a good idea to continue using real voiceovers in this niche to maintain this positive reaction and keep your audience engaged.
Creating controversy
The videos are getting a lot of views because they claim to reveal some disturbing things about rappers. This means that the new generation of rappers, who are not well-known yet, are also mentioned. So it's a smart move to start your video with famous rappers and then make a smooth transition to the lesser-known rappers. By starting with well-known rappers, you grab the audience's attention right away. Then, by introducing lesser-known rappers, you keep the content fresh and interesting. This approach encourages viewers to engage more in the comments and share their thoughts. So, it’s a good strategy to mix famous and less famous rappers in your videos.
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience not like?
Switching voiceover
Unlike the first videos that used a real voiceover, they have now switched to an AI voiceover. This change has not gone unnoticed and is definitely not appreciated by the audience. Many viewers miss the personal touch and connection that a real voice brings. It's clear that the audience prefers the authenticity of a human voiceover. Therefore, it might be a good idea to reconsider this decision and possibly switch back to using real voiceovers to keep the audience happy and engaged.
Mistakes
Fact-checking is very important for every video you make. It’s crucial that what you say is accurate, especially if you want to enter this niche where there are competitors who do have the correct facts. This audience also hears about the rappers in other ways, so a mistake will be quickly noticed. Therefore, taking the time to ensure all information is correct is essential. By providing accurate and reliable content, you can build trust with your audience and stand out from the competition. Ensuring your facts are right will help you maintain credibility and keep your viewers coming back for more.
