Why this
niche?
I found a channel in this niche that started only a month ago and has already gained over 2.1 million views. They seem to follow a pattern where one specific name gets a lot of attention, which really helps attract viewers. Because this niche is based on news, the chances of going viral are quite high. Once you understand how to approach this niche and learn what topics resonate with the audience, there are plenty of views waiting for you.

Starting with real footage
Great start! Since the intro is the most important part of the video, starting with real footage is a smart move. That's exactly what this audience wants to see, so I'd say using clips like that is a must if you want to start in this niche.
00:00
Subtitles
Because this audience might be a bit older, it's a good thing to add subtitles. Not only because their somewhat older, but also to give your audience something to focus on so they get even better in the story.
00:39
Speaking the same language as your target audience
'Watching her ruthlessly Grill Starmer and dismantle all of his excuses was so satisfying..'
This can be a huge trigger for viewers to keep watching, because in just 40 seconds, the voice-over shares the same opinion as the audience. That creates a lot of recognition, which is a really good thing.
00:41
British voice-over
Because we are dealing with a typical British audience, it's a must to use a British voice-over. I don't want to say that I'd choose her voice, but I do want to say that it's very important to choose for a British voice-over.
2:42
Trigger the audience
'Now watch, what she does to him here....'
These are small details, but they ensure your audience has a reason to keep watching the video. This hook is good, but I think it could be even more triggering. For example, something like this:
- Things were going as expected, but here’s where the interview heads in a new direction...
- But if you thought this was intense, then just wait till what happens next...
3:49
Responding to the real footage
'That was just so brutal, she put him straight into the corner only using words...'
I really like what they're doing here because as what I've seen from the comments, they talk the same language as their audience. So it's a smart move to emphasize that even more.
7:24
Good hook
'This is about to get good. Here's where the real fun starts at...'
A good, triggering hook that causes the viewer to continue watching your video. You're actually saying that they need to keep watching because 'it's about to get good.' Very good hook!
9:45
Personal opinion
'Where's your excuse now, Starmer?'
As I said before, I really like the way they are talking the same language as their audience. And this is exactly where they raise the bar and dive even deeper into it. To me, it now feels like there's a real person with her own opinion about this topic behind the screen, and that's exactly what you want to create. Great script!
Don'ts
00:58
Doesn't fit at all
The background music doesn’t fit the script at all, and it’s far too loud. This could be the point where viewers click away, as the volume makes it hard to focus on what she’s saying. They might be trying to avoid copyright issues, but adding this kind of music out of nowhere is too distracting for the video if you ask me.
5:13
Wrong, unnecessary stock footage
This kind of stock footage really isn’t necessary in the video, especially when you’re already showing real clips. I understand what they’re trying to achieve here, but to me, it just looks like bad stock footage that makes the video feel fake. It doesn’t add any value at all because viewers are more triggered by the real footage. So definitely some room for improvement here.

✅ Good thumbnail, but...
This thumbnail is okay, but there’s definitely room for improvement. I suggest using just one text and making it bigger instead of having two. It’s easier to read quickly that way. Also, the arrow is pretty big, so making it smaller would help focus more on the two people and their facial expressions. Other than that, the thumbnail looks good, and I can see why people would want to click on it.

❌ Too many focus points
This thumbnail is a good example of what happens when there are too many focus points. I’m not saying it’s a bad thumbnail, but it could be clearer and easier to read. I get what they’re going for with the red circles, but they don’t really make sense. The background image is so busy that the red circle around his eyes doesn’t even stand out. Also, the text doesn’t pop enough and is a bit too long if you ask me. Try to use a maximum of 3/4 words so that you can make the size of the text bigger and easier to read.

How to find topics?
Important:
I understand there’s a lot of uncertainty around political niches. However, a political niche isn’t a problem, as long as the content is handled carefully. The main thing to keep in mind is not to go too far with clickbait, because that could lead to a misinformation strike from YouTube. Finding a good balance is essential: your titles and thumbnails should grab attention but still stay true to the content.
To do this well, make sure the titles and thumbnails are interesting and highlight the main points in a way that pulls in the audience without stretching the truth or being misleading. Also, it’s important to base your title and thumbnail on the first few seconds of the video. This way, viewers feel that what they see in the thumbnail or title matches the actual content, which keeps them watching and helps build trust over time.
With the right approach, a political niche can be very successful. It just takes finding the right balance between grabbing interest and staying accurate.
So, to find the best topics for this niche, it’s useful to look closely at similar channels. What’s working for them, and what isn’t? When I looked into this niche, I noticed that one name kept coming up with a lot of success: Keir Starmer. But it’s important to keep in mind that this audience is anti-Starmer. So, everything he does or says is viewed negatively by them.
I see two main ways we could cover topics about him:
- Focus on What Starmer Says or Does – We can highlight his latest actions or statements and show how they affect his audience or other politicians. This will be interesting for viewers who follow political news. As example: Starmer THROWS TANTRUM After THIS Comedian Makes Fun of Him On LIVE TV !
- Show Reactions to Starmer – Another good approach is to cover how the public or other politicians react to him. As example: Rishi Sunak Destroys Unprepared Keir Starmer Over Winter Fuel Cuts
YouTube: On YouTube, I found the channels I'll link below, where you can also find a lot of topic inspiration:

• https://www.youtube.com/@JasonBritain153/videos

Google: Also with Google search you can find a lot of articles and can stay up to date with the latest news about the British politics.
TikTok: With TikTok, you can also find a lot of topic inspiration. I simply used the following filters: Keir Starmer -> Filters -> Sort by -> Like Count -> Video Category -> All -> Date posted -> Last month.

Topics:
To come up with my own topic in this niche, I looked on YouTube and Google. I found an article that I think would really interest this audience because they are anti-Starmer, so it should definitely get a reaction. I also saw a competing channel that talked about a similar topic, and got 50K views in just one day with a video where you can improve a lot of things. So, I think this is a great topic to use. I’ll add the articles below.

How to create your thumbnail?
First, I took a screenshot of Starmer and made sure that his facial expression was a bit confused/scared.
Photoshop
Then, I went to Photoshop to make the colors brighter and also added the Camera Raw Filter to him. I choose for Exposure, Whiten, Texture and Sharpen.
Microphones and LIVE icon
To make it obvious he's making an announcement, I added microphones and a LIVE icon to the thumbnail. This way, at a quick glance, you immediately know he’s giving a speech.
In the end, I chose the text "I TOOK A DECISION" because it’s something he actually says in the article linked above. This is a perfect example of creating a strong thumbnail that triggers interest without overdoing the clickbait. Especially if you play that part in the first few seconds of your video, you’re staying true to the content. That’s the key in this niche: try to add text on your thumbnail that can be interpreted in different ways, grabbing attention while staying honest.
This will be the end result:
