Classic Car Quiz
Why this
niche?
In this niche, I found a channel that reached 274K views right away with their FIRST video and started only 3 months ago. The competition in this niche is very low, and I was able to find only one other channel using the same structure, which also worked very well. And because the competition is low, while using the same structure, the chances of success within this niche are very high. Also, the content is very easy to create (you can even create it yourself if you want to). So if you like quizzes that are about classic cars, this niche might be the one for you.

Competition ANALYSIS
These channels are showing potential for this niche.
This channel uses a certain structure that seems to work well and because this channel started recently (2 months ago and immediately achieved a video with 267K views).
I also found another interesting channel in this niche: QuizBeast. If you sort by 'most popular,' you’ll see they also use similar topics, including classic cars. But it is important to mention that this channel did not use a voice-over and is not monetized. So if you want this content to be monetized, you need to have a script and a voice-over added.

Do's
00:00
Older voice-over
Since this audience is a bit older, it is smart to choose a voice-over with an older voice as well. That way, you make sure that the viewer feels like a peer is talking to them.
00:06
A small explanation
It's definitely a good idea to include a short explanation of the quiz at the beginning of your video. This helps the viewer understand how it works and allows them to keep track of their score. That way, they can share their results in the comments, which creates more interaction.
0:30
Smart trick
It's a smart move to show the car without giving the answers first, because you encourage viewers to make their own guesses, which makes the quiz more interactive. To trigger the viewer engagement and avoid dragging out the video, I'd show the photo for a maximum of 4 or 5 seconds instead of 7.
0:41
Read the answers out loud
Given that this audience is somewhat older, it's a good idea not only to display the answers, but also to have the voice-over read them aloud. This helps ensure that the information is clearly communicated so that everyone understands and can join in easily.
Don'ts
00:00
Skip those first 4 seconds
This is a good example of something I wouldn't add in a video myself. Why? Because it adds no value to the video. People click on a video because they want to play a quiz, so there is no need to welcome them to the quiz if you ask me. And don't get me wrong, because I'm not saying this is necessarily wrong, I just think it's always better if you give the viewer directly the value they clicked for. So I would leave these first 4 seconds out and start the quiz right away at 00:06 'if you can name the car before the multiple choice options appear, give yourself three points...'
00:57
Too long-winded
The structure of this quiz is as follows:
1. the quiz being explained
2. the picture of the car is shown with no answers for 7 seconds.
3. the answers will appear and be discussed
4. the viewer will get another 7 seconds to give the final answer.
The quiz currently gives viewers a total of 14 seconds (two periods of 7 seconds) to find the correct answer. I can totally understand that some people in this niche might find this too long. So for that reason, I would recommend giving the audience a maximum of 4 or 5 seconds to answer the question, so they stay more engaged.

✅ Works for in this niche
Although this is definitely not a thumbnail I would make myself, it is something that works well in this niche. Also, I see a clear contrast of bright colors and the answers combined with the photo will be the thing that will trigger the viewer in this niche the most. But you can also choose to trigger the audience with a 'weird answer'. As example: Answer a: Ford. Answer B: Mustang. That way you can cause some confusion by the viewer which can result in a click. However, in almost all cases, I will use caps lock for the text on a thumbnail so that it stands out even more. Besides that, the text is a bit on the long side, but we've seen that using the words 'CAN YOU' works well on the channel QuizBeast, I think this will trigger the viewer a lot. Also, the viewer might feel like they're being directly challenged by using these words. Once they see the options and recognize the correct answer, they may feel a stronger urge to click on the video. Therefore, it’s important to include the answers on the thumbnail, so viewers can get a quick confirmation of their guesses about the car, and that's something they did very well here.

❌ Too chaotic
I can understand that Thumbnail 1 might look a bit chaotic, but when you compare it to this one, you’ll see that this one is even more chaotic. Thumbnail 1 still has some bright colors and contrast, a big arrow, and show only one car that make it easier to understand. This thumbnail we see here has colors that blend all together and there are no clear focus points, which makes the cars no longer stand out well, and that should be the main and biggest focus point especially in this niche.

Revenue analysis
If you look at these results alone it sounds like this channel is not doing well, however that is because they have not uploaded much. However, when they upload a video it gets a lot of views so if you make sure you upload more videos I believe you can definitely scale this to million(s) views per month which results in thousands of dollars per month

How do I find topics?
To come up with good topics in this niche, it is important you look closely at what the competition is doing. Which videos are doing well and which are not?
Besides, I would like to emphasize that if you notice that something catches on, it's important to continue on that (especially in this niche). So if we take a look at our competition channel Classic Car Quiz and add their most popular video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCDsZ_BV1og&t=1s there's something about this topic/title/thumbnail that works well.
The advantage of a quiz channel is that you can consistently repeat the same type of content. The only thing you need to do is just change the thumbnail/add another trigger word in the title. This way, you can continue building on what's working well and increase the chance of success with each video. Let me give you an example:
Title: Guess the Classic Car! How Many Will You Get Right in this Auto Quiz?
All you have to do is reuse the same topic but put a different color (or type of car) on the thumbnail, making people feel like it's a new quiz every time. So you can endlessly re-use topics in this niche.
YouTube: I was able to find a total of 2 (successful) channels in this niche, the competition channel Classic Car Quiz and channel QuizBeast
How to create these type of videos?
FlexClip: I found the website FlexClip through Google, where you can easily choose from various quiz templates if you want to create the content by yourself. The great thing about this, is that you can fully customize them with your own colors and text, as shown below 👇🏽
Topic:
Since I have seen on both competition channels that the topic that deals with classic cars have achieved some good views, I chose to use that topic. And as I mentioned earlier, this topic is also ideal for reuse. I'll put the links to the quizzes below so you can see for yourself how the competition handled it.

How to create your thumbnail?
At first, I thought it would be smart to use a template from the site Flex Clip, but I soon found out that I wanted to switch to Photoshop anyway. But I was satisfied with the elements meant for the answers, so I took a screenshot of this and continued in Photoshop.
Continue in Photoshop
Eventually I did a Google search for a classic car and ended up with this car. I also liked this car because the color makes the car stand out even more.
Gradient Overlay, Exposure, Texture and Whiten
To make the car stand out even more, I added a gradient overlay. First, I cut out the car and created a new layer so that the Gradient Overlay is not applied to the car and is only visible in the background. Then I added the Camera Raw Filter to the layer of the car to make the colors stand out a bit more. I used Whiten, Texture, Sharpen, Exposure, Color Balance.
Add Text & Outer Glow
Then I started filling in the answers with the following font: Helvetica Now Display - Black. And you may be thinking: Huh? Ford and Mustang...Really? But that's exactly what I want to create because it can cause confusion by the viewer. So I would always try to use the quiz answers on the thumbnail to come up with something that would trigger people and make them want to click on it. I think if you read these answers on a thumbnail in combination with the text that it can create a lot of questions. Besides, I wanted the car to be the main focus point, I chose to add 'Outer Glow' around the photo and blurred the top with Brush - Color Black. That way, the picture stands out even more.
At the end, I added the main text at the top of the thumbnail. I chose to keep this as short as possible, so the viewer can read and understand the thumbnail within a split second. Eventually, if you have followed all the steps, then your thumbnail will look something like this:
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience like?
Classic Cars
This target group enjoys watching old gems (classic cars) which reminds them of the 'good old days' and they enjoy testing their knowledge trough a quiz.
Sharing their results
The comments section is full of quiz results, which is really helpful. It shows that a lot of people are interacting with your video, which is good for your YouTube channel. You can also see if the quiz is the right level of difficulty for your audience. By looking at the comments, you can tell if the questions are too easy, too hard, or just right, and make changes for future quizzes to better match what your viewers know.
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience not like?
Too long-winded
A quiz with answers that take too long can be frustrating for this audience. The viewers who watch these videos are usually enthusiasts of classic cars and sometimes find the quizzes too drawn out.
Mistakes
Since this target group includes some real "classic car connoisseurs," they will let you know if incorrect information is being shared in the video. They don't like mistakes and are quick to correct them in the comments.
