Survivor Stories
Why this
niche?
This is a unique niche with a YouTube Automation format I have never seen before. Furthermore, the cost per video will be extremely low because you don't need a scriptwriter and voice-over. This niche is also doing great on TikTok with millions of views on survivor stories. And on YouTube there's just one competitor in this niche, so there are plenty of opportunities for this niche.

Competition ANALYSIS
These channels are showing potential for this niche.
This is the only channel in this niche that I could find with this format. There are also major TV channels, such as the BBC, that do interviews with people who have been through a traumatic experience. Here are a few examples (warning: what you will see may be shocking).

Intro
They took an interesting part of the interview and placed it at the beginning. This also happens a lot in podcast to trigger the viewer with what's coming.

One story
The questions are asked in a way that the full story is told. They're also cutting out the questions of the interviewer.

Small effects
For the whole video they take little cuts between the phrases to keep the story flowing without "uh's and uhm's". They also zoom in and out to keep the video engaging.

Don't use stock footage for emotions
These are emotional stories, and the last thing you can do with stock footage is trigger an emotion because it always feels fake. Try to use as much footage as possible from the person you're interviewing (the creators is already doing this). And, if you have to use stock footage, use it for objects that lack emotion and are relevant to what the voice-over is saying. Look for a video editor who has experience editing short form content for podcast, such as this:

TITLE RATING
Title analysis
Some titles are adequate, while others could be improved, but the majority of them contain appropriate emotional trigger words. What's also interesting is that in all of their new videos, they use the I form in their titles, which is something I'd like to try.
Good titles contain emotional trigger words that ensure that a viewer will click your video. Emotional trigger words can be divided into 3 categories:
Curiosity (Words like: Banned, Exposed, Hidden, Illegal etc.)
Urgency/Unique: (Things like: Numbers, Limited Timed, Days etc.)
Titles: (Things like: Job titles, Family relations, Famous names etc.)

✅ 3 focus points
This is not a great thumbnail, but if there is one thing you can say about it, it is that they understand the rule of not using more than three focus points.

❌ Not triggering
The difficult part about these thumbnails is that you must rely on the content provided by the victims of the video. So, by analyzing this thumbnail, you must take it with you. However, the text on these thumbnails is frequently misplaced. If you do something like this: "Raped at 6 years old" would have done way better for sure

✅ I can understand this worked
This video received 1.3 million views with this thumbnail, and based on our analyses of the target audience, we know a lot of mothers and women are watching. Although this thumbnail does not look the best, the large text with "I lost my daughter" can be really triggering for this target audience.

✅ Black bars
This video has 300K views and I can understand why. The text + the black bars for those mens eyes works triggering

If the thumbnails and titles are optimized, this channel will have a lot more potential and will generate more revenue.

YOUR VIDEO
Topic example
Jennyfer Kang
TikTok is full of survivor stories, so I typed that into the search bar and found the story of Jennyfer Kang, who was raped by a USA teammate during an international competition. This has the potential to go viral because she was coming out for her country, and with the United States being our primary audience, this has a lot of potential. She also doesn't have many followers yet, which is important for starting out because you need some luck at first to find someone who wants to share their story on your channel.
Choosing your topic
Always choose your topic with the thought, "How can I make a great thumbnail of this?". You can see her laying on her bed in a bra in her video. You can use this as a thumbnail to give the impression that you have CCTV footage of her being raped (ask for permission first, but if she posts this TikTok, I think it's fine).

Picture
As I mentioned before, when I chose this topic, I already had an idea for how to create this thumbnail. So I took a screenshot from her video of her laying on her bed.
Athlete picture
Then I looked for a picture of an athlete with an American flag because that's what the Americans will recognize from TV or newspapers. I found this picture:

End result
Simple format
Because you'll most likely be working with low-quality images in this niche, you'll need to find a thumbnail format that works well with low-quality images while still being effective. That's why I chose this simple thumbnail format with a picture on the left and on the right, and a text in the middle.
Real footage
I tried to give the impression that we have real footage of the rape by using that screenshot of her lying on her bed. People will be more likely to click on your video because they will be triggered to see what has happened.
Athlete with flag
It's important that you completely blur out the person who's holding the flag because he has nothing to do with the story. He's probably well-known and will be recognized quickly, so you have to be extremely careful. It's just to showcase a USA Athlete.

What does the audience like?
Life lessons
Many people are taking life lessons from these videos.
Self reflection
Also a lot of people who are reflecting on their lives.

AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience not like?
Background music
Some videos have cinamatic background music, which is confusing when someone is telling a sad story.
