Longevity Wisdom
Why this
niche?
In this niche, I found a channel that has only been up for 3 months and is already achieving over 3M+ views per month with very easy content to create. So If you are looking for a niche that is about the elderly where you can easily create some (cheap) content, then this niche might be for you.

Getting what you clicked for, but....
The first seconds of this video matches well with what the viewer clicked for, but the narrator starts to repeat themselves in the second sentence of the script, which makes it a bit drawn and that's exactly what we saw coming back in the comments.
00:33
Connect with the viewer's feelings
They try to connect with the viewer's feelings here, and I think that's a good thing. This audience has probably experienced some things in their lives or seen happen around them, so this can be relatable and encourage them to keep watching the video.
00:51
The pace of the voice-over, but...
Because this is an older audience, it’s good if the voice-over speaks slowly and clearly, with some short pauses. This way, the audience can follow the video without it being too fast for them, so they can take in the information better. I do have to say that I've read a number of comments showing that this target audience recognizes an AI voice-over, and I've seen comments saying they don't like it. I don't want to say that you can't use an AI voice-over in this niche, but I do think that a real voice-over can add more value for your audience.

Typical top 10 strategy
This is a good example of a typical top 10 video. For example, they start with one case and then move on to the next by saying something like this: ‘number 2’ and then continue the story. First of all, I want to say that this is not necessarily wrong, but I believe there is a much better method. If you have multiple cases in a single video, leave out the numbers and try to combine the cases into one story with using some triggering hooks. As example:
• But if you thought that was it, you are wrong because *announce next case*
• But this is nothing compared to what I'm going to tell you next because *announce next case*
By doing this, people won't even realize they're in the next story, which means they will continue watching your video and that will provide a positive AVD.

Don't create distance
'Health is the greatest blessing for the elderly.'
How well they wanted to connect with the viewer in the beginning of the video, they miss the mark here. This is a good example of a typical 'bad' AI script because they talk in general in the sense of the elderly. This is something that I would not recommend in this niche, because it can create distance. What you want to do is try to make the script more personal and make it seem like the voice-over is actually talking to the viewer. After this part in the video, they do go back to a more personal script, and that's precisely why it's so confusing that they suddenly put that general sentence 'health is the greatest blessing for the elderly' in the script. Try to give your audience examples, bring them into the story, ask them a question, mention recognizable things. If you ask me, the viewer could be triggered much more through the script here, and is therefore something you can definitely improve in this niche.
2:06
This doesn't match
The footage chosen in this video does not match what the voice-over says at all. It could be that they may want to give the viewer a certain calming feeling by showing this kind of footage, but it's much more important to show footage that actually fits with what the voice-over is saying. Of course, I can understand that it might be hard for a video editor to find the right footage without using too much 'bad' stock footage, but for things like 'healthy meals,' you can easily use a photo or clip of some food.
3:20
Repeating the same information again
They keep repeating the same information here, which makes the video boring and dragged out, and as we know this was a common complaint from viewers in the comments. When I was watching the video, it felt like they spent too much time on a single point in the video, which made it hard to stay engaged.

If it works, it works
I personally don't like this thumbnail style at all, but once we see that something works, then it works. If data shows that something works, you have to accept that, even if I personally disagree that this is a good thumbnail. If there is something I have to pick out, I see that they used almost the same text as the title, and that is a missed opportunity if you ask me. It is a fact that these long texts work on the thumbnail, so we don't need to change that, but I certainly won't use the same text as the title. You can trigger the viewer in 2 ways: through the title and through the thumbnail. For that reason, it is definitely not a smart move to then use the same text.

Add some color
As I mentioned with thumbnail 1, I wouldn’t quickly change the thumbnail strategy because we’ve seen that it works in this niche. However, we can improve the design by adding more color to make it stand out more. What I would do is either choose a background with a bright color and keep the text neutral, or color the trigger words. This way, the thumbnail stands out more while maintaining the structure used by the competitor's channel, but you still create your own design.

YOUR VIDEO
Topic example
IMPORTANT: I think it's important to point out that this is a niche where the quality is not the best, and they are actually posting just to see which video hits. Normally, I am not a fan of this type of methods because if you study the YouTube algorithm, you'll learn that YouTube rewards your channel if your video's contain a high satisfaction rate. How do they track that? By how long people are watching (AVD), engagement (likes, shares, comments), and channel time (are many videos people watch on your channel on average).
But we are seeing a trend where channels that seem to focus on quantity instead of quality are getting rewarded as well (like this channel). So many things this competition channel does, go against my opinions and what I stand for, but if it works, it works. So I want to give you some advice and that is if you want to get into this niche, don't focus on making high quality videos because the goal with a niche like this is really just to post as much as possible, try to keep the costs as low as possible and see which video catches on first and continue on that.
How to find topics?
Google: One of the best ways within this niche for topic inspiration is simply Google. There are many articles to be found about the health of the elderly, what awaits them, that they cannot prevent things but can act on them. Some examples:
• https://mcgregoramasa.org/2020/01/13/5-guaranteed-ways-to-ruin-life-after-70-and-how-to-avoid-them/
• https://www.aarp.org/health/healthy-living/info-09-2012/what-to-expect-in-your-70s-and-beyond.html
• https://www.homecareassistancejeffersonco.com/what-should-people-aged-70-do-every-day/
YouTube: So far, I have not been able to find another competition channel that uses the same structure as Buddha Zen Wishdom. There are some channels on YouTube that use the same type of topics from time to time, though. However, these videos made by these channels just appeal to a different target audience than our competition channel Buddha Zen Wishdom. Our competition channel really focuses more on longevity, and also make videos about diseases like Alzheimer's etc. Therefore, I would keep the focus mainly on the competition channel Buddha Zen Wishdom because that is exactly the target audience we want to attract.
ChatGPT: I think this is one of the most used methods for creating a script in this niche. So if you like working with ChatGPT, you can ask it to help you create a script for in this niche. Of course, you can also use ChatGPT for topic inspiration and then have it rewritten by a scriptwriter, but that's something you have to choose yourself. I just want to mention that if you know how to work with ChatGPT, then it's definitely possible within this niche.
Topic:
Since I saw that a lot of articles can be found on Google, I started researching there. I kept well in mind that the most popular video was about this: 'If you are 70-80 years old and still do the following things, you are a....' I wanted to see if I could create something similar without completely copying the competition, and I eventually found this article:

How to create your thumbnail?
I wanted to find a picture with bright colors in the background where two elderly people are walking. The exact look of the photo wasn’t very important because we will blur it later, but the most important thing was that there was enough contrast in the photo. In the end, I chose this photo:
Add Gaussian Blur in Photoshop
Because I want the focus to be on the text we are about to add, I chose to blur the background picture. I took the following steps in photoshop: Filter - Blur - Gaussian Blur - 18 Pixels.
Eventually I started thinking about what kind of text I could add and looked at the title to see what would fit. Eventually, I chose to go for this: If you are 70 years old and still use these things on a daily basis, you are risking your life. That way, I can create a lot of FOMO with the thumbnail, and that's exactly what triggers this audience the most. In the end, I also choose to color 2 trigger words red, so the thumbnail would stand out even more. So if you followed all the steps, then your thumbnail will look something like this:
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience like?
Sharing their stories
Although you might think that these kinds of comments are irrelevant, you can actually learn a lot from the stories of the seniors, which in turn can lead to more inspiration for a next topic. The comments are full of stories of what these people have experienced, what makes them happy, and what they find important. They are proud of themselves when they can still do many activities on their own and love to share this in the comments.
Longevity topics
This target group enjoys watching videos that give them advice and tips for a better and healthy life. They appreciate the information provided and often agree with what is said and if not, they like to let you know in the comments.
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience not like?
Long-winded script
A script that is too long-winded and where the voice-over doesn't get to the point frustrates this audience. They sometimes joke about it in the comments but make the underlying message clear.
