Why It Sucks
Why this
niche?
In this niche, I found a channel that posted only 5 videos that’s getting over 10.1M+ views per month. The great thing about this niche is that you can come up with endless topics on your own. Once you understand the strategy your competitors are using, there are a lot of views waiting for you. So if you’re into sarcastic humor and enjoy creating stories with a personal touch, this niche could be a great fit for you.

Starting with the story right away
I really like how they start this video. Straight to the point, no long boring intro but actually just giving the viewer where they clicked for.

Nice animations
The animations in this video are really well done. You might be wondering how much it would cost to create something like this. Don’t worry because I’ve already worked it out for you. Animations like these would probably cost around $100 to produce. If you have the budget, you can definitely go for, but these animations aren’t necessarily what will get you more views if you ask me. People watch videos like this all the way through because they’re drawn into the story. It’s the way the story is told that keeps them engaged. Besides that, this audience also loves the sarcastic humor. By focusing on a strong story with good storytelling and a lot of humor, you can achieve great results without the need for expensive animations. You can easily create a good video using simple, low-cost editing. Sometimes, the less polished it looks, the better. I'll go into more details about this at 'Let's create your video.'

Male voice-over
The way this male voice-over speaks is very good. The tone, the voice, everything just works. While analyzing this niche, I noticed that more men than women are watching, which makes a male voice-over a great fit. Whether it’s an AI-generated voice or not, this is definitely a voice I would recommend for this niche.

Details
'Born live into the dense warm humid air of the Amazon...'
Adding details like this to your script helps viewers follow the story more easily and visualize better. This trick is often used in the crime niche as well, because it keeps the audience so engaged that they don’t want to click away. So if you want to start in this niche, It's a must to add this in your script to get your audience deeper into the story.

Sound effects
If you have a good script with nice storytelling, include a lot of details, and add sound effects like they do in this video, it will make your content even better. Sound effects help the viewer become more engaged in the story, so this is definitely something you should add to your video. Especially since they don't use any background music, it's a good thing to trigger the viewer with.

Sarcastic Humor
The drier the humor, the better in this niche. What they do well here is making something seem really serious, even though we all know a snake isn’t actually going to plan things out with a whiteboard and marker. But that’s actually what makes it funny and one of the reasons why this audience loves to watch these videos, because of those funny, unexpected moments. You almost feel sorry for the snake and want its plan to succeed. You can see this in the comments too, like when someone says: 'RIP Bro.' It shows people are really getting into the story and connecting with the title: Why it Sucks to be Born as a Giant Anaconda.

Talking in the second person
You sink slowly beneath the surface. Your eyes barely visible as you approach, you wait your muscle tense, and then... What where did this jerk pop up from?
Using the words "you," like this competition channel does a lot, is a great choice. It speaks directly to the viewer, which makes the content feel more personal and much more engaging. This approach pulls the audience actually into the story and keeps them much more involved, which definitely keeps their attention and boost engagement. It can give the audience the feeling that they are the animal they're watching, because that’s something I’ve seen a lot in the comments as a joke. People actually imagine themselves as the animal and feel like it’s about them. They also often use the animal’s thoughts in the script, which gives viewers a glimpse into the animal’s mindset, again in a funny way. Great script!

Could be better
'Speaking of the next chapter it's time for something new.'
I don't want to say that this is bad, but I think it could be better because the hook itself is not that triggering if you ask me, but they get away with it because the script and storytelling are really good. What I'd do in this case is try to make the transition more triggering and giving the viewer even more reasons to continue watching . As example:
• But this is nothing compared to what happens next...
• What happens next is something you won’t expect...

✅ Maximum of three focus points
This is a great thumbnail with just three focus points: the animal, the arrow, and the text. The text works well because it raises questions which will encourage viewers to click. So, this thumbnail is definitely a good example to follow. They added color to the animal (it could be a bit brighter if you ask me), a triggering text, and the arrow makes it clear that the text is about the animal. The only thing I’d change is the size and font of the text. I’d make it a little bigger and bolder to make it easier to read. But overall, this is a really strong thumbnail.

✅ Triggering thumbnail, but..
Again, we see a good thumbnail here with three main focus points, and a triggering text that will definitely raise questions. Overall, this is a good thumbnail, and we know that this style works. However, I think if you made the text more specific and create a bit more contrast with the animal and text, like using a big, scary animal and adding 'GETS BULLIED' it could spark even more curiosity. This isn’t necessarily better, but it’s another option to consider. So, in this niche, there are actually two effective methods for thumbnails, and it's up to you which one you like to choose.
Method 1. The thumbnail style we see on this channel focuses on animals, with text like 'Lives like crap' or 'The worst life' (as long as it’s something negative). It’s all about creating curiosity by showing the animals in tough or unfortunate situations, which make people want to click.
Method 2. Create contrast on your thumbnail by using text that people wouldn’t expect with a certain animal. For example: a big shark being bullied in the ocean, or a lion being afraid of the dark. Make sure it’s confusing enough that people will wonder if it could actually be true. The result? A click.

How to find topics?
IMPORTANT: To find topics in this niche, you'll need a good scriptwriter who will understand the audience. Whether you use AI or a real person doesn’t matter, but the key is having a strong story. It's a must to include some sarcastic humor, and as you’ve probably noticed in the video analysis, speaking in the second person is essential.
Now, to create these videos without relying on those expensive animation freelancers, you can also easily go for the 'cheap editing' method. This involves using lots of memes and pictures to highlight the funny moments and keep the viewer engaged. For the animal itself, you can use the 'Easy Actually' style by either drawing the animal or just using an image if you want to:

YouTube: On YouTube, I came across several channels that follow the same pattern. You can easily get a lot of topic inspiration from these channels by checking out their most popular videos.
https://www.youtube.com/@BoundOfficialTV
https://www.youtube.com/@Jamestoland
https://www.youtube.com/@OPAnimals
ChatGPT: Once you know how to work with ChatGPT, you can consider using AI for scripting as well. But it's a must to add sarcastic jokes throughout the script, as they help create a stronger connection with your audience. To get better results while using Chat for your script, you can share an example script from one of our competition channels, so ChatGPT can learn the style and produce something similar with a different topic. That said, I personally think a real scriptwriter is the best choice for this niche, but if you’re confident you can achieve the same quality with AI, you can definitely use this as well. But if you don't want Chat to write your scripts, you can also get a lot of topic inspiration here. As example:
Why It Sucks to Be Born as a Kangaroo
Why It Sucks to Be Born as a Bear
Why It Sucks to Be Born as a Turtle
Why It Sucks to Be Born as a Hippo
Why It Sucks to Be Born as a Giraffe
Why It Sucks to Be Born as a Walrus
Scriptwriter: If you ask me, I’d definitely recommend going for a real scriptwriter in this niche. The best part is that a scriptwriter can rely entirely on their own imagination, so you’re not limited to existing articles or resources. This opens the door to endless topic possibilities. However, the most important thing is to find someone who understands the humor that resonates with our audience and can create creative, engaging stories with lots of sarcastic humor.
Comment section: While analyzing, I noticed that the comment sections on competitor channels are full of great topic ideas. Viewers love sharing their suggestions, and some of those ideas clearly work well because they end up getting a lot of views. That makes it easy to see what kind of content people enjoy. You can take this even further by creating a community page where you ask your audience questions directly. This not only gives you fresh ideas but also helps you connect with your viewers and understand what they really want to see.
Topic:
To create my own topic in this niche, I turned to ChatGPT and asked for a list of big, scary animals. I did this because I thought it would be smart to show a big 'scary' animal in our thumbnail, combined with a confusing text like a big animal being bullied, for example. This would definitely spark some curiosity in our audience, which can make them wonder: how is that even possible? So Chat gave me a whole list, and I noticed 'White Shark.' I really liked this topic because we can create a triggering thumbnail and there’s so much you can do with the storytelling because anything can happen in the ocean, right?

How to create your thumbnail?
First I went to Google to find an image of the white shark. I kept well in mind that I wanted an image where the shark looked very angry and where his teeth are very visible to create a shocking effect.
Camera Raw Filter & Arrow
Then, I selected the shark to create a new layer and added the Camera Raw Filter to it to make it stand out even more. To create a maximum of 3 focus points, I also added a red arrow. That way, the thumbnail also gets a red accent and the shark becomes an ever bigger focus point.
In the end, I choose to add the text GETS BULLIED because it's actually the opposite of what people would expect. Because when you think or see a shark, you probably don't expect that it will be bullied in the ocean, so that can confuse the viewer and eventually lead to a click.
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience like?
Sarcastic humor
This audience loves sarcastic humor. Once you watched a video from our competition channel, you'll understand a lot more what this viewer means with his comment. The most important thing to know is that, if you want to start in this niche, it's a must to include a lot of dry humor in your script and that you understand and speak the same language as your audience.
Great storytelling
A good script is the most important part of this niche. While this applies to other niches as well, in this one people click because they expect a fun, engaging story with plenty of humor. That’s why your script needs to be your main focus. When I analyze the competition’s channel, you’ll see they use some nice animations. But that’s not what really matters. It’s the storytelling that draws people in and keeps them watching. So, don’t worry too much about the visuals, focus on delivering a great story, because that’s what the audience is here for.
Coming up with new topics
The comments are full of ideas from viewers for new topics. This isn’t just great for coming up with inspiration, but it also helps you understand your audience better since they’re directly telling you what they enjoy to watch.
